Also known as altering, sterilizing or fixing, spaying and neutering are terms for a minor procedure that makes animals unable to reproduce. Females are spayed - males are neutered. If you find a stray animal, please try to find its owner through flyers in your neighborhood. Please view our Service Area information for which communities can bring strays to our shelter. Strays are held for 5 days before being evaluated for adoptability. For more information, visit the Rescue Program page.
